Arsenal 'Decide Against New Contract For Alexandre Lacazette'

By Daily Sports on November 23, 2021

Arsenal have reportedly decided against offering Alexandre Lacazette a new deal at the Emirates.

The 30-year-old is enjoying a consistent run of starts under Mikel Arteta, but his future remains up in the air as he runs down the final few months of his Gunners deal.

Lacazette is supposedly after a new long-term deal to stay on at Arsenal, but the club are only thought to be willing to sanction a short-term extension.

According to El Nacional, Arsenal have ultimately decided not to renew Lacazette’s contract, and he is set to walk away for free at the end of the season. The report adds that Atletico Madrid are the frontrunners to sign the former Lyon man in 2022, although they will have to fend off interest from Barcelona to land the forward.

Lacazette only has three goals to his name from 10 appearances this term, one of which has come in the Premier League. (Sports Mole)
