Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba was injured Monday while training with the French national team, local media reported.
The French sports daily L'Equipe said Pogba suffered an injury to his right thigh during shooting practice and withdrew from training at France's Clairefontaine training complex.
A video on L'Equipe's website showed the 28-year-old hobbling after he took a shot.
Pogba immediately left the pitch and was accompanied by Franck Le Gall, who is the French national team doctor.
One of the main pillars in the France squad, Pogba helped Les Bleus win the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
France will be without Pogba in their next 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying group fixtures.
They will first face Kazakhstan in Paris on Saturday and will then visit Helsinki, Finland on Nov. 16 to complete the European qualifiers.
France have racked up 12 points in six matches to lead Group D.
Second-place Ukraine have nine points in seven matches.
Finland have eight points and Bosnia and Herzegovina have seven points.
Group underdogs Kazakhstan bagged three points in seven matches to be eliminated. (Anadolu Agency)
