Norbert Okolie, Rangers International FC of Enugu Media Officer, says the club is ready for the forthcoming Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
Okolie who spoke in an interview with the News Agency Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu on Wednesday said that the club’s preparation for the new was on top gear.
According to him, the club’s preparation for the new season is on top gear as it has undergone the first and second phases of close camping.
The first phase comprised field work, while the second phase, comprised drillings at the gym and swimming pool.
The media officer said that the club had a week camping at Nsukka where the players played a good number of test matches.
“We played against a state league club known as De-Don from Nsukka and defeated them 3-1.
“Our second test match against University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) team ended 2-0 in our favour; we also thrashed Nsukka All Stars 4-0 in another test match.
“Rangers FC subdued Nsukka United FC 3-0 to round off a good and sound week long camping,” he said.
Okolie said that the club made some good number of signings after testing the players for weeks.
“We signed two good goalkeepers in former MFM FC, Bamidele Adeniyi and Chizoba Okoh.
“Rangers also acquired the services of a good left back from Sunshine Stars FC of Akure, Oluwaseun Olulayo, a striker Ossy Martins and others.
“The new players have been playing with the old ones and they are blending for the season,” Okolie said.
NAN reports that Rangers FC finished the 2020/2021 NPFL season on the seventh position with 62 points. (NAN)
