Rangers NPFL tie a must win - Obaseki

By Daily Sports on June 1, 2016

El Kanemi Warriors media manager Anthony Obaseki has tagged his side's rescheduled top-flight clash against Enugu Rangers as a-must-win match.

The Warriors will host the Coal City side in Wednesday’s top-flight make-up matchday 18 clash at the Maiduguri Township Stadium.

Obaseki said his side are determined to improve on the three-match unbeaten record on the Maiduguri turf.

“Our match on Wednesday against Enugu Rangers is a-must-win match for us as our position on the league log is not encouraging.

“Right now the fans are enjoying themselves and solidly behind us and the only thing that can keep the support coming is victory.

“We have turned back empty-handed three teams that visited us in Maiduguri and we hope to add Enugu Rangers to the list.

“That’s not to say we are underrating Rangers; the players have tasted victories on their home front and want to maintain the momentum.

“After Wednesday's match we will wait to add Warri Wolves to the list.

“We lost 1-3 to Warri Wolves on matchday 19 clash so it will be payback time when they come to Maiduguri.

“Thereafter we will get ready to confront Wikki Tourists in Bauchi..

“We are planning to hit the second stanza of the league really big,” said Obaseki to supersport.com.

El Kanemi Warriors are 17th on the top-flight log on 19 points at the end of the first stanza of the season.  (supersports.com)
