Watford Part Company With Head Coach Xisco Munoz

By Daily Sports on October 3, 2021

Watford have announced they have parted company with head coach Xisco Munoz.

The Spaniard took charge at Vicarage Road last December and secured promotion to the Premier League, leading the Hornets to a second-place finish in the Championship.

But Watford have lost four of their opening seven top-flight matches this season, including Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Leeds United.

A club statement said: “The board feels recent performances strongly indicate a negative trend at a time when team cohesion should be visibly improving.

“The Hornets will always be grateful to Xisco for the part he played in securing last season's promotion and wish him well for his future career in football.”

Watford now have two weeks until their next Premier League fixture. They will return from the international break with a home match against Liverpool. (premierleague.com)
