FG Charges NFF On Super Eagles World Cup Qualifiers

By Daily sports on August 11, 2021

The Federal government has charged the Nigeria Football Federation to ensure that Super Eagles qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar without permutations.

Giving this charge on behalf of the Federal Government is the Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Sunday Dare in his address at the just concluded NFF Extra-Ordinary Congress at the Edo Heritage Hotel, Benin City, Edo State.

According to him, if the World Cup qualifying matches were approached with all seriousness, Nigerian’s would be spared another round of permutations.

“I wish to use this medium to urge the football family most especially the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) about the World Cup qualification which is at the doorstep.

“Our first match is next month and it is expected that we take the matches seriously and prepare very well so that we can qualify for the World Cup in Qatar 2022.

“We have two matches to play in the month of September, the match against Liberia and Cape Verde. I want to state here that we should avoid permutations at the dying minute.

“We should get ready to pick maximum points at the early stage of the qualifiers so that we will not find ourselves in a tight corner,” he urged the NFF leadership. (Daily Independent)
