AC Milan Step Up Pursuit Of Ziyech

By Daily sports on July 28, 2021

AC Milan have reportedly upped their pursuit of Chelsea playmaker Hakim Ziyech.

According to Calciomercato via Daily Mail, the Serie A club are eager to sign the Morocco international on loan for the 2021/22 season with an option to buy.

MIlan are said to consider Ziyech a financially viable option, as compared to Isco and Philippe Coutinho of Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.

The Rossoneri are eager to find a replacement for Hakan Çalhanoğlu who joined fierce rivals Inter on a free transfer last month.

Ziyech signed for Chelsea from Ajax Amsterdam last year after notching up an incredible 130 goal contributions in 165 matches for the Dutch giants.

The 28-year-old struggled to establish himself as a regular starter during the course of the 2020/21 season, his first at Stamford Bridge.

In total, he started a mere 18 games across the Premier League and UEFA Champions League tournaments, scoring six goals and assisting a further four in 39 appearances across all competitions.

Ziyech only started three games in the Blues’ run to Champions League glory and didn’t come off the bench against Manchester City in the final. (African Football)
