EXCLUSIVE: Ifeanyi Ubah eyes NNL chairmanship

By Victor Enyinnaya on May 20, 2016

The Chairman of Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA), Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, is one of the frontline contenders to the position of chairman of the Nigerian National League (NNL), Daily Sports (www.dailysportsng.com) can authoritatively reveal this morning. A top-placed source said unless the FC Ifeanyiubah Proprietor drops his ambition at the last minute, he would certainly throw his hat into the ring.

“The truth is that Ubah has made it known to his close associates. Head or tail he fits the bill. He is an experienced businessman that knows what to do to turn around the financial fortunes of NNL. One prays and also believes the desire will not die down to become one of the mere dreams,” the source said.

It was further scooped that the petroleum and gas mogul would soon make his intention to test his popularity in national football known. Clinching the number one position in NNL would automatically qualify Ubah as an executive committee member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The insider source also said that Ubah has put everything in place, waiting for the signal that would herald the sale of forms for the NNL election.

The source, who wished Ubah well, said: “He will make NNL profitable and viable, too. He has a broad chest and his mission into football is not by accident or to make money but rather to give any area he found himself new look worth comparable to leagues that knew, maintain and cherish standards. He has left nobody in any doubt his is service to the nation and humanity. He will also bring sanity, poise and respect to NNL its players and club owners alike. I pray he would keep his ambition alive and come in to salvage the game at that level.”
