Ndidi, Iheanacho Shine As Leicester City Make FA Cup History (Leicester 1 Chelsea 0)

By Daily Sports on May 15, 2021

Nigerian internationals Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho shone brilliantly as their club, Leicester City, made history on Saturday evening, May 15, 2021, beating hard-fighting Chelsea to win the 2021 English FA Cup.

A lone goal off a brilliant long-range strike by Youri Tielemans which beat Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga in the 63rd minute electrified the sizable crowd that watched the thrilling encounter at the famous Wembley Stadium and ultimately decided the game – handing Leicester City the prized trophy for the first time ever.

Striker Iheanacho was substituted later in the second stanza of the game but midfield marshal Ndidi starred till the referee’s final whistle.

Goalkeeper and skipper Kasper Schmeichel ensured victory for Leicester with his point-blank saves.

A late equaliser by Ben Chiwell was cancelled after VAR adjudged him to have been millimetres offside.
