Platini could contest ban at ECHR

By Daily Sports on May 11, 2016

Michel Platini is considering contesting his four-year ban from all football-related activity at the European Court of Human Rights, his entourage confirmed to AFP on Tuesday.

The former France captain "is seriously studying, among his options, that of referring his case to the ECHR to protest against the fact he is prevented from working", the source indicated.

Platini, 60, resigned as Uefa president on Monday after the Court of Arbitration for Sport rejected his final appeal, although his suspension was reduced from six years to four.

The three-time Ballon d'Or winner said he was resigning to continue his fight to clear his name over a suspect $2 million payment in Swiss courts.

Under the terms of his ban from the sport, Platini is unable to attend football matches in any official capacity, nor work as a television analyst or write a newspaper column during Euro 2016.
