Liverpool are ready to open talks about a new contract with Virgil van Dijk which would keep him at Anfield for the remainder of his career.
Football Insider says Liverpool are set to open talks on a lucrative new Van Dijk contract worth more than £50million.
The sidelined defender, 29, has two year remaining on the five-and-a-half year agreement he signed when joining from Southampton for £75million in January 2018.
However, a Liverpool source says the club are willing to hand the Dutchman a deal worth more than £200,000-a-week to keep him at the club for the rest of his career.
