Agent: Hakimi Joined Inter Because Of Conte

By Daily sports on April 30, 2021

Alejandro Camano, the agent of Internazionale wingback Achraf Hakimi, has revealed that the Moroccan wingback joined the club specifically to work with manager Antonio Conte.

The 22-year-old’s move from parent club Real Madrid to Inter – for a reported fee of €40 million – was brokered by Camano and has proved a major success.

Hakimi has racked up six goals and seven assists from 32 league appearances this season and has become a key man in a Nerazzurri side which could clinch the Serie A title this coming weekend if they beat Crotone and other results fall their way.

The Moroccan international has been linked with a move away from the San Siro, but Camano insists this will not happen any time soon.

“As for Hakimi, his future is at Inter, many clubs wanted to sign him, but he chose the Nerazzurri because of Conte. He is a coach who can take out the best from his footballers,” the agent is quoted by Football Italia.

The former Juventus and Chelsea tactician had claimed the Morocco international has issues with taking penalty kicks.

“It surprised me, but if he said so, he is surely right, he knows Hakimi better than I do.”

The Inter player is one of just two defenders in the top five European leagues to have scored at least six goals and have delivered at least six assists – the other is Atalanta’s Robin Gosens. (African Football)
