Federation Cup Round of 64 matches unveiled (PLUS: All the fixtures; male and female categories)

The Round of 64 matches of the 2016 men’s Federation Cup competitions were unveiled on Thursday at the draw ceremony conducted by the Nigeria Football Federation at the FIFA Technical Centre, Abuja.

Among the matches to look forward to are NPFL teams Sunshine Stars FC against Giwa FC, Kano Pillars against Gateway FC and Imo State champions Papilo FC against high-flying Rivers United.

The matches will be played on 25th and 26th May across the federation.

In the women’s draw, Rivers Angels will confront FC Robo Queens in the first round, while Abia Angels will trade tackles with Rising Queens, among other fixtures. Cup holders Sunshine Queens were drawn bye alongside Nasarawa Amazons, Capital City Doves, Confluence Queens, Moscow Queens, Delta Queens Katsina Queens, COD United Ladies, Pelican Stars and Bayelsa Queens.

NFF’s 1st Vice President and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi represented the NFF President at the event. The General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, was also there alongside NFF Executive Committee member, Alhaji Yusuf Ahmed Fresh, Acting Director of Competitions, Mr. Bola Oyeyode and Chairman of the Ondo State Football Agency, Hon. John Ola Mafo.
