Nigeria striker Anthony Ujah was on target as his German side Werder Bremen hit six past a hapless VfB Stuttgart in the German Bundesliga on Monday.
Ujah completed the route with the sixth goal of the game as Werder stepped up their battle to avoid relegation from the top-flight with a 6-2 win.
Fin Bartels set Werder on their way with the first goal of the game in the 10th minute but that joy was short-lived as Daniel Didavi equalised for Stuttgart with 26 minutes on the clock.
It turned out to be the Werder show from that point as a Federico Barba own goal restored Werder’s lead and then Levin Mete Oztunali popped up with a third just before half-time.
Barba atoned for his first half error scoring for Stuttgart in the 53rd minute to give his side some glimmer of hope.
Werder stepped up gears again and hit Stuttgart three more times as goals from veteran striker Claudio Pizarro, Fin Bartels and Ujah completed a wonderful night for Werder to end the game 6-2.
The result means Werder are above the relegation zone on goals difference from Frankfurt with 32 points after 34 rounds of games.
Ujah has scored 11 goals in the Bundesliga this season and will be looking to add more before the season comes to an end. (Supersports.com)
