NLO: Remo Stars Academy Win Again To Keep Pressure On Ottasolo FC

By Olayinka Owolewa on March 15, 2021

Shola Ogundana’s lone goal was all Remo Stars Academy needed to beat ABU Football Club of Zaria on Sunday to keep alive their hopes of picking the lone ticket in Ilorin.

Aside from the qualification ticket, victory in the match played at the Kwara Stadium Complex in Ilorin also helped to further put rivals Ottasolo FC under pressure.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the match was one of the Match Day 7 fixtures in the 2020/2021 Nationwide League One (NLO) playoffs.

Ogundana struck in the 59th minute with a powerful header for his side to gain the match’s full points.

Hammed Adebayo also scored for FC Ebedei from a goalmouth scramble in the 58th minute to help them beat EKSU Galacticos 1-0, who are yet to taste victory at the playoffs.

It took Hammola International FC just three minutes into their game at the KFA Stadium centre to go ahead, but Olukismet FC fought back to force them to a 1-1 draw.

Ismail Amosa had put Hammola FC ahead in a spectacular fashion in the third minute after a brilliant team display.

Paul Waku pegged them back in the 77th minute for Olukismet FC through a solo effort. (NAN)
