NLO: Olarewaju Scores Twice For Hammola As Knights Crash Jets

Habib Olarenwaju scored a brace to help Hammola International FC of Osun State beat Kaduna United 2-1 on Saturday in Ilorin at the ongoing 2020/2021 Nationwide League One (NLO) playoff.

Olarenwaju left his teammates on the bench clapping in the 25th minute of play when he scored a screamer.

He maintained his brilliant performance on the match day and got reward again in the 38th minute to complete his brace to put the match beyond their opponents.

Khalid Labaran pulled one back from a scramble for the Kaduna based side to half the scores seconds before the break.

Meanwhile, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) FC of Zaria recorded their first win of the playoff with a 2-0 victory over EKSU Galacticos.

Usual suspect for the University Boys, Jamilu Usman, continued his outstanding performance at the playoff with another brace in the match.

He broke the deadlock in the 51th minutes of play to put the University Boys in the lead.

Usman completed his brace seven minutes later to double the lead for the University Boys to give them their first win of the competition.

Knights Football Club of Ile-Ife defeated Mighty Jets Feeders 2-1 in one of the matches played on Saturday at the Kwara Football Academy centre, Ilorin.

Knights FC took the lead 14 minutes into the encounter through Taiwo Adefioye’s screamer.

Nathaniel Haruna begged them back in the 27th minute when he even the scores for the Jos based side from a scramble.

Ani Shedrack restored Knights’ lead in the 52nd minute for the Ile-Ife based side to regain lead from a disappointing defensive display by the Jets.

Vet Rovers of Vom, Plateau, shared the spoil with FC Ebedei in a goalless draw. (NAN)
