New Football Club Unveiled In Kaduna, Set To Feature In Nationwide League One

A new football club, Seat of God FC, has been unveiled in Kaduna to feature in the Nationwide League One (NLO).

Unveiling the club at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna, the state’s Commissioner for Sports, Kabir Mato, said it was good for the state to have a new club.

“We will be expecting you to perform well so as to play in the country’s premier league very soon,” Mato, who was represented by the state’s Director of Sports, Yakubu Ibrahim, said.

He then assured the club of maximum support and prayers to excel in the 2020/2021 NLO season.

In his remarks, Chairman of the state’s Football Association (FA), Kassim Shareef, congratulated the new club and assured it of maximum support from the association.

Shareef noted that Kaduna state was second in the country in getting a football club owned by a religious leader, after Lagos which has the Mountain of Fire Ministry (MFM) Football Club.

Earlier in his welcome address, the club’s President, Bishop Ademola Tinuoye, said his utmost desire was to help in tapping the vast talents in numerous youths.

“I believe that if these talents are appropriately harnessed, we will have solution to joblessness and crime in the society.”

He however said while the club has been established by a church, it is non-religious, unbiased and without sentiments or favouritism.

“The club is open to all members of all faiths, beliefs, races, nationalities and tongues.

“Great ideas and positive contributions are welcome. We are starting and proceeding with confidence of a brighter tomorrow,” Tinuoye said. (NAN)
