Odion Ighalo loses father

By Daily Sports on April 25, 2016

Tragic Odion Ighalo suffered a shattering post-script to Wembley defeat when his father Paul died hours later.

Watford striker Ighalo posted a blank picture in all-black on Twitter with the words “R.I.P. Daddy” after learning of his father's death overnight.

The Nigerian international, who fired a late chance narrowly over the top in the Hornets' 2-1 FA Cup semi-final defeat by Crystal Palace, confirmed: “I lost my father in the early hours of today.

"It is a very painful loss.”

Ighalo, whose 16 goals this season fired Watford to Premier League safety, has told the club he intends to play on for the rest of the season, subject to funeral arrangements for his father back home in Lagos. (dailymirror.co.uk)
