Arsenal Keen To Add Another African Star To Their Midfield

By Daily sports on January 16, 2021

Arsenal are reportedly keen on adding another African star to their midfield.

The Gunners can already call on Thomas Partey (Ghana) and Mohamed Elneny (Egypt) but according to the Sun the North London club are reportedly interested in adding Yves Bissouma to their ranks.

Bissouma, 24, is said to be a ‘huge’ Arsenal fan and will reportedly be keen on linking up with former teammate and fellow African Nicolas Pepe (Ivory Coast) at Emirates Stadium.

The Mali international has impressed for Brighton & Hove Albion since his £15.2million move from Lille in 2018 and has also said to have attracted admiration from Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

Bissouma has started 16 matches for Brighton in the Premier League this season and is set to make a return to the starting eleven after serving a one-match suspension, which kept him out of a 1-0 loss to Manchester City on Wednesday, for the Seagulls’ trip to Elland Road on Saturday.

Brighton will be aiming to end a nine-game winless run with victory away to Leeds United. Defeat to City in midweek left the club in 17th place on the Premier League standings, a mere two points above the relegation zone. (African Football)
