Real Madrid Star Rodrigo Out For Three Months

By Daily sports on December 26, 2020

Real Madrid have confirmed that Rodrygo Goes suffered a hamstring injury during Los Blancos' 2-0 win against Granada last Wednesday night.

The Brazilian winger was going after a loose ball when he received a slight push from Granada's Dimitri Foulquier, which caused him to fall awkwardly. Rodrygo immediately asked to come off and was replaced by Marco Asensio.

Real Madrid have officially diagnosed Rodrygo’s injury as a muscular injury affecting the tendon in his right biceps femoris hamstring muscle. While they did not state how long 19-year-old will be unavailable for, MARCA understand that he could be out for three months.

Rodrygo had forced his way into Zinedine Zidane's starting line-up in the last few games, so this will understandably be a disappointing setback for him. He cried as he left the pitch on a stretcher, obviously aware this knock would keep him out for a while. On Thursday, however, Rodrygo was in better spirits.

Now, though, Zidane will hope that Eden Hazard will be able to come in and display his talent after dealing with his own injury troubles. It is not just Hazard that Zidane can play in Rodrygo’s position, as Lucas Vazquez, Asensio and Vinicius Junior are also vying for a starting spot. (Marca)
