Former Ghana International Otto Addo has been named as the assistant manager of Borussia Dortmund.
This comes after the German giants decided to part ways with their Swiss manager Lucien Favre.
Favre was dismissed by the Black and Yellows following a 5-1 humiliation at the hands of newly-promoted Stuttgart in a Bundesliga match on Saturday.
Otto, who has been serving as a talent coach at Dortmund, will now work under manager Edin Terzic.
“Current assistant coach Edin Terzic, 38, will take over as head coach until the end of the season,” a club statement.
“Terzic, whose coaching career started in the BVB youth system, had spells working for the first teams at Besiktas and West Ham United before returning to the Strobelallee as Favre’s assistant in 2018.”
“In his work with the team, Terzic will be supported by the U17 coach Sebastian Geppert, 36, and talent trainer Otto Addo, 45.”
“Edin Terzic was in charge on Sunday afternoon as the Black & Yellows started their preparations for the Bundesliga match away to SV Werder Bremen.
Addo is a former Dortmund player and he was on the books of the Black and Yellows between 1999 and 2005.
The retired attacking midfielder helped the club clinch the Bundesliga Liga title and finish second in the UEFA Cup during the 2001/02 season.
Addo, who scored twice in 15 international matches for Ghana, also served as an assistant manager at German clubs Hamburger SV and Borussia Monchengladbach. (African Football)
