Enyimba attacking midfielder, Ikechukwu Ibenegbu has said his side will not defend their first leg win advantage in Sousse, Tunisia at Etoile Sportive du Sahel.
The two-time African champions will be the guests of the North African side for a spot in the lucrative group stage of the Caf Champions League on Wednesday at the 25000 seats Stade Olympique de Sousse, Sousse.
The People’s Elephant won the first leg fixture clash 3-0 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt with top striker, Mfon Udoh netting a hat-trick.
Ibenegbu said his side will go all out to attack to ensure the Nigerian champions secure qualification to the group stage of Africa’s first tier club competition.
“We are going to approach the encounter in Sousse as if we have not played the first leg, it’s going to be tough given the opponents pedigree but we will get the job well done.
“No, we are not going to defend the 3-0 win in Port Harcourt we will attack with whole lot of caution.
“We need Nigerians prayers and support to survival the expected difficult task against the Tunisian side.
“We are determined to see off Etoile du Sahel to firm our foot in the group stage of the competition.
“Nigerians should sleep with both eyes closed as there is no cause for alarm,” said the Nigerian playmaker to supersport.com.
Ibenegbu is not 100% certain to start the important clash in Sousse after he developed a stomach upset at their stopover training in Lagos.
The aggregate winners of the two-legged encounter will book passage to the lucrative group stage of the competition. (supersports.com)
