Senegal vice-captain Sadio Mane and Egyptian star Mohamed Salah have made Diogo Jota’s job easier at Liverpool FC.
The Portugal international praised the African duo after grabbing a hat-trick as the English giants thumped Atalanta 5-0 in the UEFA Champions League match on Tuesday.
Mane and Salah were both got on the scoresheet against the Italian club as the Reds secured their third successive win in Group D.
Jota, who recently joined Liverpool from English side Wolverhampton Wanderers, lauded Mane and Salah as world class players.
“Well, obviously two world-class players,” Jota told the club’s official website.
“We all know their quality, [it] makes it easier for me to do my job because they are outstanding players and I think we did a great game together today.
Jota’s hat-trick takes his overall tally to seven goals in just 10 appearances for Liverpool and he is looking forward to Sunday’s Premier League clash with Manchester City.
“Well, I think five goals – it doesn’t happen so often [that you] score five in one game so I think that’s good,” he continued.
“I think the clean sheet as well, so if we can do the clean sheet against City I am pretty sure we will win the game.”
Mane, Salah and Jota have scored 21 goals between them across all competitions this season. (African Football)
