Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane was delighted with their 3-1 win at Barcelona.

The victory will come as a huge relief to Zidane, who has been put under pressure following the last two defeats to Cadiz and Shakhtar Donetsk.

“I don’t know if [the criticism towards us] was fair or not,” Zidane said at full time. “What I can say is that I’m proud of my team. We’ve done it against a team that always causes you problems.

The turning point of the game came as Clement Lenglet gave away a penalty for tugging on Sergio Ramos’ shirt in the 58th minute. Barcelona protested the decision after referee Juan Martinez Munuera pointed to the spot after a VAR review.

“There’s a referee and he went to look at the incident and gave a penalty,” Zidane added. “I never talk about referees and I’m not going to start today. “Aside from this moment, we deserved the win [anyway].
