Enyimba hat-trick hero, Mfon Udoh has said his side will not go to sleep over the emphatic victory against the Tunisian side, Etoile Sportive du Sahel.
The two-time African champions defeated the North African side 3-0 in Sunday’s Caf Champions League clash at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
Former Akwa United marksman, Mfon Udoh bagged a hat-trick to hand his side a comfortable first leg win.
Udoh said there are work to be done if his side were to perfectly complete the job at Etoile du Sahel backyard in Sousse, Tunisia.
“There are lot to be played for in the reverse fixture clash in Sousse, Tunisia, we are not going to sleep or overwhelmed by the 3-0 victory but further tighten our belts to see that we finish the job right there at Etoile du Sahel backyard in Sousse.
“We are quite happy to have started the job well right here in Port Harcourt but we will not be carried away.
“Etoile du Sahel are good side which everybody knows but I think they underrated us as underdogs and we took them by surprise.
“I’m overwhelmed scoring the hat-trick that gave us somehow comfortable lead in the race for a group stage spot.
“I have scored several braces but today’s (Sunday) hat-trick is my first hat-trick as a professional footballer as well as in the Champions League and against a highly rated Tunisian side, Etoile du Sahel.
“We will not relent but work hard to ensure we book our passage to the group stage at the expense of the Tunisian giants,” said Udoh to supersport.com.
The second leg clash is expected to hold between April 18-19 at the 25000 seats Stade Olympique de Sousse, Sousse, Tunisia. (supersports.com)
