Barcelona midfielder Busquets Urges Calm After Getafe

By Daily sports on October 19, 2020

Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets urged calm after their defeat at Getafe.

Jaime Mata scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot.

“Whether it’s fair or not, we're leaving with a defeat,” he told Movistar. “I think we played well in the first half and had chances but we know it would be a difficult game, that it would be tough and maybe it's been decided on a couple of moments. Once they got the goal, they sat back comfortably behind the ball.

“We tried to play quickly but a lot of the time we couldn't, but we tried. We weren’t precise enough, it wasn’t our best game but we tried until the end and even had chances, with the crossbar late on. The result is a shame.”

Busquets wouldn’t criticise Getafe for their physical style: “They are a team that break up the play but within the rules of the game. They played well and we have to congratulate them and move on.”

Nor would he comment on the match officials: “Once the game ends there’s no talking about the referees.” (Reuters)
