I Have A Good Record As Delta State Football Association Chairman, By Edema Fuludu

By Daily sports on September 18, 2020

I read with veritable amount of chuckle the release by the illegal DFA board on a social media platform about myself and Victor Ikpeba seeking relevance in Nigerian football community.

This is laughable coming from hired goons like Azuka Chiemeka, a coward that will die many times before the real death. I and Victor Ikpeba have names in Nigerian football that cannot be wished away. It is a culmination of hard work, determination and special grace of God. The only ex-Nigeria International Footballer in that illegal board is Sam Sodje and no one else. Tomorrow they will say he is looking for relevance.

Azuka Chiemeka was in Agbarho DFA Congress February 2018 where he was lamenting and spoke with venom against the lacklustre running of Football in the state. He was actually not doing that because he loves the game. He was crying over unpaid allowances and emoluments owed him in Warri Wolves as Media Officer. Immediately he was threatened with sack or transfer to a remote part of the state he buckled and started dancing kokoma to the drums of his captors.

So whatever Azuka Chiemeka is doing now is because he is now suffering from Stockholm Syndrome: he is sympathetic to his captors.

On the matter of account opening and case of embezzlement I have openly told them to go to the fraud unit organs to arrest me. I have been waiting since 2018.

I opened an account without a board meeting and use ATM to withdraw some money totalling about eighty thousand Naira (N80,000) or less which I must have used to buy a house or sleep in an hotel. They want me to burst the dam; I will and water will overflow.

Sports Commission never paid money into the account, not one Board member sourced for one Naira and paid into the account to do jack for the FA. I will tell EFCC and co what necessitated my opening of the account and why those board members who claimed ignorance of the account know very well about the existence of the account. They themselves will tell us what accounts the board had and why it was not functional. We may have to bring in Friday Onothoja, the longest serving FA Secretary, to expatiate on the DFA accounts.

The chairman I took over from will also be invited to throw light on our accounts leading to the reason I opened an account.

I had the guts to contest for membership of Delta State House of Assembly because I am not just an ex-International footballer and I have not given up on that. I want to be a dedicated individual among other dedicated individuals in the social-political emancipation of our people regardless of cultural and pluralistic divide. I am not into my people versus their people.

I and my board members stand against impunity and power play that is stifling football development. Everybody may run away when it is dark but truth will triumph even in the innermost consciousness of the oppressors.

They should stop peddling rumours such as dropping names. Thank God Coach Napo spoke up immediately.

Peace in the absence of injustice is anathema.
