Ondo apologises to Shooting Stars over attack on players

By Daily Sports on January 1, 1970

The Management of the Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA) has apologised to the management of Shooting Stars FC of Ibadan over an attack on two officials of the team during last weekend’s league match in Akure, among them the visiting team’s General Manager, Mr. Rasheed Balogun.

Addressing reporters in Akure, ODSFA Chairman, Mr. John Ola Mafo, said the issue was blown out of proportion.

He said Sunshine FC are ready to initiate peace move with a view to ending the prolong misunderstanding that exists between the two teams.

ODSFA’s position on the match chaos has, however, been dismissed by the League Management Company (LMC) which, after due investigations, slammed a fine of over N6 million on Sunshine Stars for the violent conduct of its fans.
