Arteta: Man City Win Could Convince Aubameyang To Stay

By Daily Sports on July 20, 2020

Arsenal FC manager Mikel Arteta hopes their impressive win over Manchester City convinces Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to sign a new deal.

The Gabon international inspired the Gunners to a 2-0 victory over the Citizens in the FA Cup semi-final encounter by scoring a brace on Saturday.

Aubameyang has less than 12 months left on his deal with Arsenal and the London giants are keen to extend his contract ahead of the 2020/21 season.

“I think it will help everybody,” Arteta told the club’s official website.

“These beautiful moments are always better than the bad ones and when I look at him and speak to him he sounds pretty convinced.

Aubameyang, who is the Arsenal captain, has had another great season with the team having netted 25 goals in 41 games across all competitions.

Arteta believes that the Gunners are heading in the right direction having defeated newly crowned Premier League champions Liverpool FC in midweek.

“But obviously, if he can see the success and the direction that we’re taking is the right one,” the Spanish tactician added.

“I think he will be more positive about it, yes.” (African Football)
