Congratulations NPFL, Other Football Stakeholders, Vincent Enyeama

By Daily Sports on June 29, 2020

What is constant in life is change. The change definitely is not the one the All Progressives Congress party used deceptively in 2015 to hoodwink unsuspecting but mostly ill-literate voters to climb to power. Today the party has turned the entire country upside down displaying inept governance.

As you will agree with me, sports goes hand in hand with politics and discussing politics in this column can never be seen as misplaced. Politics is life like in other climes but here, it is mainly seen as what the stomach will eat, which made it so dirty, deceitful and a game of do or die.

It is a beautiful game in other developed and some under developed climes where horse trading tactics is being fully harnessed or employed to make it more credible.

We have seen clean and clear politics in football especially when FIFA held her polls. It was a study in character that speaks volumes for emulation for countries especially, Nigeria.

As this page was preparing to go to bed, news of the appointment of former Super Eagles safe gloves, Vincent Enyeama as goalkeeper trainer by Club De Croix came in. As one of the reporters that covered football matches, who knew how the former Enyimba International FC and Super Eagles goalie held opponents strikers hostage and to their frustration, i jumped up from where my laptop was in my study and shouted loud, ‘Up Enyeama.’ Without doubt, it is time for the veteran goal tender to impart his beautiful solid goalkeeping career experience and tricks, especially on how to hold dare devil strikers at bay during or in crucial and critical tension soaked games, to the young ones aspiring to prove safe hands, while in between the goalpost for their clubs and countries.

The former goalkeeper strictly paid his dues but hastily retired from the service of the national side where he also captained, because of nonsense national team coach, Sunday Oliseh who was wrongly engaged by Amaju Pinnick.

For the records, Oliseh proved a destroyer than an intelligent builder. The rest remains bad history that would always be told by an idiot as Oliseh’s brief stint in the Eagles was the darkest period ever.   Congratulations Vincent Enyeama, as you endeavour to put your eyes on the ball, as this step by the French club would land goodies for your career as coach.

Last week, the League Management Committee, Nigeria Professional Football League and other stakeholders met and voted that the curtain for the current League season be drawn adding that there will be no promotion and relegation using PPG method which was adopted by club chairmen.

In that colouration, therefore, as it was reported in media houses including Daily Sports, some clubs like Enyimba International FC, Rivers United, Kano Pillars, etc will fly the country’s flag in the continental club champions.

That was cheering also as it would buoy up the teams so chosen, specifically selected due to their positions on the table and other criteria used to name these football clubs.

One prays that the solution for this dreaded scourge ravaging the globe would be found so we can pick our lives and surge on despite operating in a totally collapsed economy.

Daily Sports and her teeming readers congratulate these clubs management and players, foremost to LMC, NPFL, NFF, Sports Minister, Chairman of football clubs and other stakeholders for a job well-done going forward. It is simply for the good of the game.

Daily Sports would continue to monitor and report back to our numerous readers. As usual, our social media handles are on 247 as we discuss strictly on the subject matter raised here. Keep shooting hard till next week!!
