CAF Cups: Oneya, Sanusi on duty as Nasarawa, Enyimba, Warri Wolves play on Sunday

Nigerian officials Dominic Oneya and Mohammed Sanusi will be on duty this weekend as action resumes in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup competitions.

NFF General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi will be match commissioner for the CAF Confederation Cup second round, first leg encounter between UMS de Loum of Cameroon and FUS Rabat of Morocco, taking place in Cameroon on Sunday. He will work with referees from Central African Republic.

Former NFF President Dominic Oneya will also serve as match commissioner, for the CAF Champions League second round, second leg match between Al Ahly of Egypt and Recreativo Libolo of Angola in Cairo. He will work with referees from Senegal.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s remaining three representatives in the continent are set for their second round duels. CAF Champions League flagbearers Enyimba FC and Warri Wolves, and CAF Confederation Cup contenders Nasarawa United will all play at home first, and all matches come up on Sunday, March 13.

Nasarawa United, who overpowered AS Academie Generation Foot of Senegal in the first round, host Club Sportif Constantinois of Algeria at the National Stadium, Abuja, with Liberian referee Jerry Yekeh at the centre. Fellow Liberians Joseph M. Hoff, Johnson Gbartea and Christopher Nylander will serve as assistant referee 1, assistant referee 2 and reserve referee respectively. Ethiopian Asfaw Luleseged Begashaw will be match commissioner.

Nigerian champions Enyimba FC, winners over Vipers FC of Uganda, will take on Vital’O of Burundi at the Adokiye Amiesieamaka Stadium, Port Harcourt. Nigeriens Gomno Daouda, Yahaya Mahamadou, Abdoul Aziz Moctar Saley and Ibrahim Mamane will be referee, assistant referee 1, assistant referee 2 and reserve referee respectively. Kadre Saleh Kana from Chad will be match commissioner.

At the Warri City Stadium, Warri Wolves will take on El Merreikh of Sudan in another CAF Champions League second round, first leg match, with Burkinabe referees in charge. Juste Ephrem Zio will be in the centre, with Seydou Tiama, Kouka Christian Ouedraogo and Boureima Sanogo as assistant 1, assistant 2 and reserve referees respectively. Former Ghana FA boss M. D. Jawula will be match commissioner.
