Plateau United Management Visits Kano To Condole Maikaba Family

By Obaseki Anthony on March 25, 2020

A seven-man delegation of Plateau United Football Club of Jos has condoled with its head coach, Abdu Maikaba, over the death of his elder brother, Mustapha, who passed away last Saturday.

Speaking at the occasion, leader of the delegation and secretary of the club, Audu Yusuf, described the passing away of Mustapha as shocking and a great loss not only to the Maikaba family, but to Kano State and the country at large.

Audu noted that the news of the deceased death came to the club as a big shock considering the fact that Mustapha Maikaba just retired from the Nigeria Immigration Service and was trying to settle down to a new life with his family.

While praying for the repose of his soul, the club secretary urged the family to accept his demise as an act of God and a necessary end to all mortals.

Responding on behalf of the family, Professor Balarabe Maikaba thanked the Management of Plateau United Football Club for the show of love and brotherliness, describing the visit as encouraging.

Prof. Maikaba praised the management of the club for giving their brother, Abdu Maikaba, the chance to handle Plateau United, stressing that they have been praying for him to win the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) as a way of rewarding his hard work and commitment to his coaching profession.

He described the deceased as a quiet and unassuming personality who was also a philanthropist, adding that his death has created a vacuum that can hardly be filled.

The late Mustapha Maikaba, aged 61, was a retired Comptroller of Immigration and is survived by a wife, children and several relations.
