Kaduna SWAN Congratulates New North West Sports Ministry Coordinator

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kaduna State Chapter, has congratulated Alhaji Abdullahi Idris on his appointment as the Zonal Coordinator North West, Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.

This was contained in a statement signed by its Secretary, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, made available yesterday, Monday, March 23, 2020.

“We are pleased to receive the news of appointment of Alhaji Abdullahi Idris as the Zonal Coordinator of the North West Zone.

“We are optimistic that it will translate to consolidating on the achievements of his predecessors,” Kaduna SWAN said.

It commended the Director Grassroots Sports Development, Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Dr. Ademola Are, for the choice of Abdullahi, describing it as a good choice.

The association urged the new Zonal Coordinator to be dedicated, creative and innovative in further giving a boost to grassroots sports development.

It also congratulated outgoing Zonal Coordinator, Mr. Olusola Luke, for a successful service to the zone, while wishing him a happy retirement.

“We are wishing Mr. Luke a happy retirement and assuring him that his contributions to sports Development in the zone will forever be remembered,” Kaduna SWAN stated.

It would be recalled that Idris, prior to the appointment, had served as Zonal Coordinator in Bauchi before the Zonal offices of the Ministry were trimmed down after the National Sports Commission (NSC), which was under the Presidency, was scrapped.
