Ighalo Issues Coronavirus Plea

By Daily Sports on March 15, 2020

Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo has taken to Instagram to utter his first words on the coronavirus that currently has the world on standstill.

The Nigerian was subjected to confinement from United’s training ground upon his arrival on loan from Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua.

Despite not being diagnosed with the virus, the 30-year-old was told to quarantine himself from United’s AON Training Complex as a precaution and worked at another facility in Manchester with a personal trainer.

He only joined his teammates for two sessions, two days before his debut in the 2-0 win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on February 17.

But the pandemic has since made its way to

England where several Premier League clubs have been affected, including Chelsea's Callum Hudson-Odoi and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

In the wake of a series of Covid-19 cases, the Football Association opted to suspend football in the country until April 4 and Ighalo has taken to Instagram to ask football lovers to be safe.

“See you in three weeks, please be safe out there,” he said on Instagram. (Goal)
