The League Management Company (LMC) and the Football Club Owners Association of Nigeria (Club Owners) have commiserated with Kano Pillars Football Club over the death of the team Manager, Coach Kabiru Baleria.

The CAF ‘C’ licensed coach and former ElKanemi Warriors of Maiduguri player died on Tuesday in the ancient city of Kano after a protracted illness.

The LMC letter signed by the COO, Salihu Abubakar, reads: “On behalf of the LMC leadership and the rest NPFL clubs, we write to express our sympathy to your club management, staff and supporters on the death of Kabiru Baleria, who served as Team Manager until his death.

“The late Baleria made impressive contributions in his service to your club in particular and also to national football where he also served as technical staff of the youth teams at various times.

“His services will not only be missed by Kano Pillars but in the NPFL where he has made acquaintances in the course of serving your club.

“We pray that God will grant his immediate family and the entire Kano Pillars Football Club stakeholders the strength to overcome this loss.”

The Club Owners, on their part, described the death of the former U-I7 Golden Eaglets Assistant Coach as unfortunate, considering his level of commitment and contributions to the development of young footballers both in Kano State and at the national level.

“A jovial refined gentleman and astute Football Administrator cum tactician, coach Baleria would be missed by the entire Football fraternity,” the Club Owners said in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman, Barr. Isaac Danladi, and the Executive Secretary, Alloy Chukwuemeka.

The association condoled with Baleria’s immediate family and friends, the Management, supporters, players and officials of Kano Pillars FC as well as the entire football family.
