The management team of the ‘Flying Antelopes’, Rangers International FC was at the home of the club’s late former scribe, Sir Felix Ogbuke (KSJI), on Tuesday to condole the family on the demise of the astute football administrator.
Barrister Emeka Ugwuarua, the Administrative Secretary of the Enugu side, led the delegation that had players, staff and management on the condolence visit.
Ugwuarua in his remarks called on members of the Ogbuke family to be consoled over the death of their patriarch who served the club, football and humanity with all he had.
“The Management of Rangers is in deep pains and really does not know how to come to terms that our former scribe and the head of the Ogbuke family is no more.
“We are here to share in your pains and be assured that we will be involved in the burial of this legend, Sir. Felix Ogbuke. May God grant his gentle soul eternal rest and grant the immediate family the fortitude to bear the big loss,” Ugwuarua said.
Also speaking, Chief Patrick Nworji, the Scouting Manager of Rangers, urged the family of late Felix Ogbuke popularly called ‘Fella Fitta’, to bear the huge loss stressing: “Your husband and father lived a good life and posterity will continue to judge him right. The good name he left behind will to a very large extent lead you. Be consoled as we are also affected.”
Responding, son of the departed scribe, Onyedika F. Ogbuke, who is also a player of the Enugu side, said: “We are very grateful to the management for this visit. It goes a long way to show how you respect your former secretary, my father. It is indeed very painful to be talking about my father in the past tense but we are consoled by the fact that he lived a good life and more consoled by visits of various groups like yours, to share in our moment of grief. We shall inform you when the burial is fixed. Thanks for this visit.”
Late Sir. Felix Ogbuke died Monday, February 10, 2020, after a very brief illness.
