The appointment of 26-year-old Amobi Ezeaku by the Enugu State Government as Team Manager of Rangers International FC of Enugu has continued to elicit positive reactions.
One of Nigeria’s top licensed players’ agents Obinna Emelogu hailed the move to appoint a young TM for one of Nigeria’s foremost clubs as a positive development for the country’s football.
“It’s a great news, I love that. We need young people in certain areas of our club football administration to bring in fresh ideas,” Emelogu told Daily Sports from his Houston, USA base recently.
As the agent of several top Nigerian and foreign stars, including Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo of Chelsea, Emelogu knows quite a lot about dealing with clubs and the dealings inside football teams. He hopes Rangers owners would give Ezeaku the proper freedom to work for the good of the club.
“It’s very important to allow him to work. Rangers have not won anything in a long time so the pressure would be much. I wish him (Ezeaku) the best of luck,” Emelogu concluded.
Rangers kicked of their Nigeria professional league season with a 1-2 loss to Kano Pillars at the Sanni Abacha stadium on Kano on Sunday but bounced back yesterday with a 3-1 win over Plateau United in Enugu.
