Arteta: Pepe Needs To Be Consistent

By Daily Sports on February 19, 2020

Ivory Coast international Nicolas Pepe needs to be consistent in the English Premier League.

This is according to his manager at Arsenal, Mikel Arteta after the left-footed player caught the eye over the weekend.

Pepe delivered arguably his most influential performance in an Arsenal shirt on Sunday as they beat Newcastle United 4-0.

The attacker scored one and supplied two assists, but it was his work at the other end of the pitch that made all the difference according to Arteta.

“We just need consistency from him,” Arteta said on the club’s official website.

“Wide talented players in this league are not easy to get because obviously the most difficult thing to do is create things,

“But we’ve said some things and we need Nico to maintain game by game,” he added.

“He knows that and it’s the way he was applying himself defensively in a few moments, he was top drawer.

“That’s what he wasn’t doing in the past and when he does that, the rewards in the other box come. He made a difference.” (African Football)
