Salah Grabs Brace As Liverpool Go Ten Points Clear

By Daily Sports on December 15, 2019

Mohamed Salah’s brace in a 2-0 win over Watford has helped Liverpool open up a massive 10-point lead at the top of the Premier League, with the Egyptian’s heroics headlining African star players in European action on Saturday.

The Pharaohs superstar netted in the 38th and 90th minutes at Anfield as the Reds defeated bottom-of-the-log Watford in the early kick-off, opening up an 11-point advantage at the top of the log.

Leicester City, featuring Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho in their starting XI, were expected to cut the lead down to eight points, but they could only draw 1-1 at home to Norwich City and allowed Liverpool’s advantage to remain in double figures.

Elsewhere in the Premier League, Christian Atsu featured for Newcastle United in their 1-0 loss at Burnley; Chelsea suffered a fourth defeat from their last five league matches when they were beaten 1-0 at home by Bournemouth; and Mahmoud Trezeguet and Marvelous Nakamba couldn’t prevent Aston Villa falling 2-0 away to Sheffield United.
