Ighalo Eyes Premier League Return

By Daily Sports on December 14, 2019

Former Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo says he would like to return to the English Premier League but admits he is tied down in China at Shanghai Shenhua.

Ighalo was superb for Watford in helping them into the Premier League, but then left for Changchun Yatai in China, later joining Shanghai when his club were relegated.

The 30-year-old has retired from international football, but says his club career is very much alive and he would welcome another chance in the Premier League.

“The Premier League is the best in the world and of course I would love to go back, with Watford or any other team, but I have a contract with Shanghai and we’ll see how it goes,” he told brila.net.

Ighalo has scored 46 goals in 70 starts in the Chinese Super League since his arrival in 2017.
