Lille coach Christophe Galtier is hopeful that he will be able to hold on to prized asset Victor Osimhen in the January transfer window, but admits he cannot say for certain he will.
Nigeria international Osimhen has been in excellent form for Lille this season, making a number of top European clubs sit up and take notice.
There have even been some tenuous links to Barcelona in the Spanish media, though certainly nothing concrete. But it has been enough for Galtier to have to publicly field questions on the player’s future in January.
“Yes, I believe so,” he said when asked if the player was staying. “But in football, nothing is safe. I can confirm this with regard to the weeks that have just passed.”
Galtier’s last reference is to the fact that he has lost a number of his technical team to Tottenham Hotspur after they left to link up with Jose Mourinho in London
