The 7th edition of the Dreamland Embassy of Hungary Cup kicked off yesterday, Tuesday, in Abuja.
The tournament was declared open by the Hungary Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr Sandor Beer.
Six matches were played on day one, with the defending champion Dreamland Football Academy Abia State losing to newcomer to the tournament, Jazzy Stars Football Club of Plateau State, by a lone goal.
In other matches, Squad 1 Football Academy of Abuja drew 2- 2 with MTA Football Club of Enugu State, while 1B Sporting Dreams Football Club of Abuja, who were runner-up in the 6th edition, lost to FC Chimoski Academy of Delta State by two goals to three.
Hooke Sports Football Academy of Abuja defeated Ejele Football Academy by two goals to one, while Galadima Football Academy of Abuja, the winner of the 5th edition, defeated Dosad Football Academy of Anambra State by three goals to two.
The last game of the opening day ended in a scoreless draw between runner-up of the 5th edition, Right2Win Football Academy of Abia State, and Dynamic Football Club of Lagos State.
In Group A, Hooke Sports Football Academy of Abuja is topping the group with 3 points from one match and Jazzy Stars Football Club of Plateau State second with 3 points from one match.
The other two have no point: Dreamland Football Academy and Ejele Football Academy.
In Group B Galadima Football Academy is topping with 3 points from one match, MTA Football Club with 1 point from one match, Squad 1 Football Academy with 1 point from one while Dosad Football Academy has no point from one match.
In Group C, FC Chimoski Academy is topping with 3 points from one match, second is Dynamic Football Club with a point from one match, followed by Right2Win with a point from one match while 1B Sporting Dreams Football Club has no point from one match.
