Nigerian international centre-forward Emmanuel Emenike has completed his much-awaited loan move to the English Premier League side on loan from Turkish club Fenerbahce, the London side announced on yesterday. The deal lasts until the end of the season but the contract gives the

“West Ham United are delighted to announce the signing of Nigeria centre-forward Emmanuel Emenike on loan until the end of the season,” the club stated on their website.

The 28-year-old passed his medical on Friday at the Spire Roding Hospital before signing the contract at the Boleyn Ground, now teaming up with Nigerian counterpart Victor Moses, who is on loan from Chelsea.

Emenike has expressed happiness with the chance of working with Slaven Bilic and his West Ham team. He has known Bilic from a distance during his time in the top divisions in Russia and Turkey.

The aggressive marksman told West Ham TV after completing his move: “I’m very, very happy and very, very excited that I’m here. I have always known West Ham as a great club. I’ve always been watching them. West Ham’s great club and I’m happy to be here.

“I’ve known him (Bilic) for years. When he was at Lokomotiv Moscow, I was at Spartak Moscow, then he came to Besiktas and I was in Fenerbahce, so we’ve known each other for a long time. I’m happy to be here and happy to play for him.

“We’ve followed each other’s careers and thank God we are here today and we are here together.”

Emenike has played 37 times for Nigeria, featured at the 2014 World Cup and was part of the squad which won the 2013 African Cup of Nations.

Emenike began his career with Delta Force in Nigeria before moving to South Africa with Mpumalanga Black Aces and Cape Town.

In 2009, he moved to Turkish football with second division Karabukspor, where his 16 goals helped the side to promotion.

He then scored 14 goals in the top flight with Karabukspor before a brief stay at Fenerbahce in 2011 was followed by a switch to Russian Premier League side Spartak Moscow where he hit 24 goals in 51 games.

A return to Fenerbahce in 2013 led to the league title in 2014. Emenike was loaned to Al-Ain in the UAE last year, netting seven goals in just eleven appearances
