Players of Warri Wolves have dedicated their victory over Akwa United in the on-going pre-season Super Four tournament in Kaduna to Delta State Sports Commission Chairman, Hon. Tony Okowa, and the club’s new chairman, Etu Moses.
Speaking on behalf of the players, star defender Monday Osagie said: “The chairman is a lucky man. This victory shows that we will go places so we decided to play for him as far he remains the chairman. He has paid us our outstanding bonus. In addition, the State Sports Commission Chairman, Hon. Tony Okowa, also gave each of the players N20,000 for all the registered players.
“We shall do our best to top this zone and move ahead to Uyo for the second and final play-off.
Since the appointment of the new board our welfare has changed and the technical crew is doing its best. Some of just joined the team. By the time we train together no team can stop us.”
Daily Sports reports that Warri Wolves will meet Nasarawa United today for their second game to be played from 7pm.
Enyimba will take on Akwa in the first match of the day to kick off by 5pm.
Warri Wolves is leading the table with three points while Enyimba and Nasarawa have a point each and Akwa United empty-handed.
