Nigeria’s Pillar of Sports, High Chief Donatus Agu-Ejidike, JP, has urged Nigerian representatives to the forthcoming All Africa Games in Rabat, Morocco, to make Nigeria proud at the championship.
He noted in a statement released by his office that Nigerian athletes have all talents and abilities to perform well at the championship dubbed as ‘African Olympics’.
“Nigeria is certainly a leader in global sports. And going into the All Africa Games, I believe our athletes have the potentials to dominate at the championship,” Ejidike, who is also a board member of Karate Federation of Nigeria, remarked.
He thanked the President Muhammad Buhari-led government for its timely approval of the allowances and preparations of Nigeria athletes for the championship.
“I must commend and say a big thank you to the Federal Government of Nigeria, for the interests it has shown on welfare and preparations of our athletes going to Morocco for the African championship.
“That would certainly encourage and put our athletes in a good stead to put in their best and perform very well at the championship,” he said.
The renowned sports philanthropist went ahead to admonish the athletes and officials to be good ambassadors of the country. He added that they should ensure they further project the image of the country, positively, during and after the championship.
