Niger Tornadoes goal tender and captain Mustapha Aliko says he and his teammates are ready to go one step better in the Aiteo Cup final slated for Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna today, Sunday, July 28, 2019.
Aliko stated this shortly after the club’s evening training session at the Ranches Bees Stadium in Kaduna ahead of the Aiteo Cup final.
He said: “We have been training hard since arriving Kaduna for the finals. The players are working hard in training as you can see we are ready for the final.
“We are aware of the massive support our fans have been giving us, we are urging them to keep praying for us and Insha Allah we shall not disappoint them.”
While commending the management of the team headed by Hon. Adamu Aliyu, the team captain described the Chairman as one of the best football administrators in the country.
His words: “Our Chairman is always ready to act according to his words; that is why we nicknamed him ‘Talk and Do Chairman’. Remember, he made pledge of N1.5m before our game with Rivers United, which he fulfilled before we took off to Kaduna.
“He has always been supportive, morally, financially and otherwise, we shall repay him with victory on Sunday.”
A source in the team camp informed Daily Sports that all the players are in top shape and in high spirits.
“No injury and all are fit and ready for the Sunday game,” as confirmed by the teams Medical Department headed by Doctor Tasiu Ibrahim.
