National President of Super Eagles Supporters Club, Prince Vincent Okumagba, has urged the Super Eagles never to allow the loss to Madagascar in their last Group B match at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to hinder them from going all out against their round of 16 opponents, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroun come Saturday in Alexandria, Egypt, and ensure that they will squeeze water out of stone in the anticipated epic battle of wits and brawn.
In a telephone exclusive conversation with Daily Sports in reaction to the paring that pitched Nigeria against Cameroun, Okumagba declared that with focus, confidence and determination the boys would give their opponents fight of their lives as games between both countries have produced stressful encounters.
Daily Sports reports that Okumagba’s men and women are already in Egypt were they have been drumming support for the Super Eagles from the group stages, waiting eagerly to continue on Saturday.
Okumagba believes that the Eagles know what is at stake and must do the needful to overcome Cameroun, adding that he foresees that if the technical crew gets its priorities right, Eagles would bounce back and make and take it from there. He however warned that it will not be an easy game as the long time rivalry between both countries in the round leather game would be replicated come Saturday.
“Yes, it will not be an easy game for both sides but a winner must emerge. My advice as always would be for the team to be vigilant and focused in order to off the Camerounians. The fact remains that both teams will not find it easy but anyone that got its priorities right quickly will carry the day. As usual it will be a tight match and victory can go either way,” Okumagba predicted.
He revealed that more members of the Super Eagles Supporters Club have already landed in Egypt, and so the Eagles would not lack support from the stands as the fireworks in the round of 16 teams ensue.
“My men and women are already on ground and so we are fully represented and will do what we know best to do. I am optimistic that the Eagles would put every feet right and confront Cameroun headlong. Remember, the Lions are no longer the beginning to wisdom for our team therefore it won’t be a one sided affair. My take is that the fittest would carry the day. Eagles are in my mind without any prejudice,” Okumagba insisted.
It would further be recalled that the Nigerians lost 2-0 to Madagascar on Sunday, and then finished behind their conquerors in Group B which drew them against their arch revivals of Group F, Cameroon.
