NPFL Super Six: Enyimba Pip Enugu Rangers, Lobi Stars Spank Ifeanyi Ubah

By Daily Sports on June 5, 2019

Lobi Stars’ quest to retain the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title started on a bright note on Tuesday as the Pride of Benue romped to a 3-1 victory over Ifeanyi Ubah at the Agege Stadium in the final game of matchday one in the Super Six

Samad Kadiri gave Lobi a dream start as he got the opening goal two minutes after the kickoff, and even though the Anambra Warriors pulled level just before the end of the first-half through Tega Ebetomame, two more goals from the Pride of Benue ensured that they end the first day on top of the standings in the Super Six.

Kano Pillars and Akwa United played an entertaining 2-2 draw in their opening match of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) playoffs, played at Agege Stadium, Lagos on Tuesday evening.

The teams met twice through the course of the regular season, with a 1-1 draw in Kano before the Promise Keepers came out on top in a 3-0 spanking of Sai Masu Gida in Uyo.

Enyimba made a winning start in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season-ending play-offs on Tuesday as they pipped Enugu Rangers 1-0 at the Agege Stadium to give their title hopes a big boost.

A solitary strike from Joseph Osadiaye in the 50th minute was enough to hand the People's Elephant the winning start they craved, in what was another installment of the Oriental derby. (Goal)
