Mane Promises to Win More Following UCL Success

By Daily Sports on June 3, 2019

Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has promised the club’s fans that more success will follow their Uefa Champions League triumph in Madrid.

The Reds beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 at Wanda Metropolitano Stadium on Saturday for their sixth European crown, and first since beating AC Milan in Istanbul 14 years ago.

Having come so close to breaking their English Premier League drought this season – finishing second behind Manchester City despite losing just one game – Mane is confident more trophies will follow in the near future.

“We have more things to come,” he said, via the club’s website.

“We will do everything to win [more] trophies with this squad.”

Mane continued: “We are very proud and very happy to win this trophy. The dream has come true.

“I could not have anything better.”

Mane scored 26 goals in 50 appearances across all competitions for the Reds, including four important goals in the club's run to Champions League glory.

The Senegal international will now shift focus to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations which kicks-off in Egypt later this month.  (African Football)
