Fans of the Ultimate Football Show on Eko 89.7 FM station Lagos recently turned out en masse for a novelty match organised by the Ultimate Football Fans Club (UFFC).
The novelty match which took place at MiTv ground at Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos State was part of an annual event to host the fans of the show who took out time to call, send tweets to the show and whose daily contribution cannot be over emphasised. Fans from most states of the federation came to participate in the football match. The event which featured the Ultimate Football Show crew team versus Ultimate Football Fans team ended in a draw after the 90-minute encounter, even though Basanya Kabiru Babatunde, a fan, was the man of the match.
Mr Eyitayo Balogun Jnr, host of the radio show, impressed fans as he took to the pitch to play during the first 45 minutes. The presenter who last played active football years ago showed that beyond talking sports, he can also lace his boot and kick the leather. Other co-hosts of the radio programme, including Tayo Daramola, Osaze Simon and Emmanuel Akindibuwa, also played with passion.
Basanya K Babatunde a.k.a Daddy Ozil, Okesola Olalekan a.k.a Legzyron, Chukwuma Kelvin a.k.a Degiggyman, Ayejuro Babajide Cyril a.k.a Joebaba, Saint Leo Imoisili, Chukwuma Ibiam and Ogbonna Francis, were among exceptional fans on the pitch. The female fans were not also left out, as they came out to share in the excitement. They include Chinwe Nancy, Susan Omopeloye and Omolade Obayomi.
Ultimate Football Show is a listener’s delight and a viewer-friendly, informative and interactive football show on radio and television that brings the latest football gist from around the world. Ultimate football show runs on Eko 89.7FM Monday to Friday at 9:15 to 9:45pm. Also on Superscreen Television on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
It is an interactive programme with contributions from listeners from within and outside the country while soccer enthusiasts express their views on football. The show features results and highlights of European, Domestic and African leagues as well as unstructured football leagues. Ultimate Football Show is a production of Spotlinks Media Communication.
